4.  Finding Work
City Talent offers an innovative approach for working with diverse clients and teams globally. In order to begin working in City Talent, the first step is to find jobs which match your skills and professional experience.

Finding and Applying to Jobs

Clients in City Talent post ‘Jobs’ which are resource requirements for their projects. When you apply for a ‘Job’ it represents an aspect of a project. The job description provides necessary information to help you understand the client’s expectations for that job. Jobs can range from short term assignments consisting of just a few hours to long term assignments spanning over few months. You should also examine the opportunity in terms of the number of hours per week and the skills required by the Client.
There is no limit to the number of jobs you can apply on a given day. But, we recommend to apply to not more than 2-3 jobs on a given day. This is due to the fact that City Talent maintains a very reasonable Client/Service Provider ratio or utilization rate. Hence chances of getting a response are extremely high.

Job Application

Before you apply for a job, you should write a cover letter. Your service profile will automatically be included along with your cover letter in your Job Application.

Writing Cover Letter
A Cover Letter is you opportunity to express your individuality and thereby your suitability for a Job. It will help you differentiate yourself from the rest of the providers who have applied for the same job.

Tips on Writing a Cover letter
Do not use technical jargons in your cover letter. Keep it simple and straightforward. Your cover letter should demonstrate your sincerity and keenness to undertake the job. If possible, try to mention a similar assignment you had undertaken in the recent past and any success you gained through your efforts. Mention the role you played in similar projects.

Getting Interviewed

Once a client reviews your Job Application and is interested. You might also receive an email from the client requesting a suitable time to discuss the particular assignment. Though clients will not be undertaking a formal interview, they will still conduct a formal discussion with you to determine your suitability for their assignment. You should utilize this opportunity to understand the project/job in more detail.

Getting Hired

A Client will hire you once he/she is ready to begin a work relationship with you. You will receive an email notification as well as a Dashboard alert informing you about the hiring decision taken by the client. Soon after, the client will assign you a project and corresponding tasks in the project (optional).
